Railroad Protective Solutions
"Program" Guidelines

1.  Contract values within the 50' Right of Way that exceed $10,000,000 for construction must be approved.
2. Certificate holders shall not be performing work "On Behalf Of" the Named Insured (the Railroad).
3. Minimum premium covering the installation of overhead wire is $1,600 for both Traverse and Longitudinal installations and minimum premium covering underground wire or pip is $1,800.
4. Minimum premium covering construction other than wire or pipeline installation is $750 with the basis being the contract value in ROW.  Projects include, but not limited to:
   

   Bridge Inspection, Painting, Maintenance, or Repair (no new construction)

   Building or Demolition of Property

   Cutting, Planting, Spraying (weed control)

   Grade Crossing Maintenance

   Installation of Private Grade Crossings

   Landscaping

   Maintenance Work

   Parking Lot Construction

   Rock Scaling

   Sign Board and Billboard Construction

   Signal Repair or Maintenance

   Spur and Sidetrack Construction, Maintenance or Repair

   Station, Terminal or Building Repair

   Survey Work

   Test Borings

5. There is no coverage for Railroad Employees, except Flagmen/Supervisors.
6. Projects with a duration longer than 18 months must have prior written approval prior to quotation.
7. Projects involving blasting, or any other highly hazardous operations (i.e. new bridge construction) must be approved in writing prior to quotation.
8. No Capital projects that involve railway workers (i.e. for work) may be attached to the policy.
